residential condominium

  • Absolute World was originally planned as just a single tower. A second tower was added following the overwhelming response to the design.
  • Both Absolute World towers have continuous balconies surrounding the whole building, thus offering maximum light to the apartments.
  • Absolute World 2, by contrast, turns a constant 4° through each of its 50 storeys.
  • With its sister tower Absolute World 2, the building forms part of the Absolute City Centre complex, a residential ensemble consisting of five towers.
  • With the towers located at the junction of two main streets, the stated intention is for Absolute World to act as a gateway to the city.
  • Its curvaceous form earned the building the nickname of 'Marilyn Monroe'.
  • The balconies have passive solar design.
  • Absolute World 2 has a different pattern of rotation since design architect Ma Yansong of MAD architects insisted that the second tower should complement the first but not duplicate it.
  • The tower's elliptical form turns through a total of 209° over its 56 storeys, with the twist varying from 1° to 8° from floor to floor.
