US Bank Plaza

US Bank Plaza
Pillsbury Center
office complex

  • The two towers are connected by an 8-story atrium with a distinctive glass roof consisting of 6 stacked prisms. This joint lobby forms a diagonal axis across the block and is open to both the street and skyway levels.
  • The southwest corner of this block was once occupied by the National Building.
  • An earlier headquarters of Pillsbury, Northstar East, stands catercorner across the 2nd Avenue/6th Street intersection from these towers.
  • US Bank Plaza occupies the entire block bounded by 2nd Avenue and 3rd Avenues South, from 5th to 6th Streets.
  • The atrium contains a large sculptural piece entitled "Hanging Stones" by Loren Madsen.
  • The complex is connected by skyway to Canadian Pacific Plaza, Capella Tower, Hennepin County Government Center, and the McKnight Building.
  • Reflecting the departure of Pillsbury to new owner General Mills' headquarters in Golden Valley, the complex was renamed US Bank Plaza in summer 2004.
